Ornate White Dresser

By Chance in Knoxville, TN.

Ya'll!! When i picked up this beauty I already knew what I wanted to do with it!  I wanted it White and to make all those hand-carved details pop. I started by cleaning my piece very well, this is an important step to make sure you have zero adhesion problems. I also Primed my piece since it was very old and I didn't want any bleed through since I was using White. I then started the fun part, applying the White Paint. I used about 2 coats of Dixie Belles Cotton. I then let that dry and came back and lightly sanded to get that smooth finish I love, I then applied one coat of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat to all the detailed areas and let dry. I came back and used General Finishes Pitch Black Glaze in all those beautiful detailed areas to make them Pop!! I then let that dry and came back over the whole piece with a dry brush of the Cotton. Once dried i gave it a nice coat of wax and buffed it out to get that buttery soft smooth finish. Last but not least, in each drawer I Decopauged decorative napkins by using Mod Podge.  This piece has been my absolute favorite one I have done to date, and I hope ya'll enjoy it as much as I did giving it a 2nd Chance!!
