The Arrow Head Dresser began it's furniture life as a sedate, boring stained Ethan Allen Dresser. When I purchased it second hand it was dirty, scratched, water stained and the drawers needed repair. I sanded the top and drawer fronts down to bare wood. I then taped off my pattern, staining and painting in multiple steps. I did this with the drawers in the dresser (not easy) so that I could achieve a matching overall Arrow Head design. I stained the top of the dresser and the top 4 small drawers with General Finishes Java Gel. Using my Wagner Sprayer I painted the sides and larger areas with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I used a brush to paint the smaller white areas. I removed the original hardware and sprayed it a bright metallic gold. I also masqued and sprayed parts of the arrow head design gold. Lastly I sealed the stained and gold areas of the dresser with General Finishes Top coat High Performance Sealer and sealed the white Chalk Paint with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Clear Wax with Pure White Paint mixed in it.
This Dresser is no longer "sedate". It is dramatic, modern, unique and one of a kind.
