This lovely Berkey & Gay buffet originally came to me in extremely decent shape for its age. However, there were some small blemishes I was not fond of including two water spots and a scratch on the top. Refinishing was out of the question so I decided to restore it utilizing my favorite and trusted products from General Finishes. The entire buffet was stripped of its original finish, sanded and cleaned. I wanted to stay as close to the original finish as possible but wanted it a touch darker. I used a mixture of General Finishes Java Gel Stain and Antique Walnut Gel Stain. After I got the desired darkness from staining, the entire piece was sealed with several coats of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Satin. This featured two extremely deep outer drawers, original silverware tray and a middle door for more storage. This measures approximately 68" x 21.5" x 37".
