These 3 whiskey barrels I transformed and donated a few months back for the town of Fuquay Varina, NC. It took me over a month to do all three, but it was worth it. This took me almost a week to get these barrels sanded and sealed properly before starting the finishing process. I first taped off the metal rings around the barrels and then hand applied 2 coats of Antique Walnut Gel Stain to the outside of the barrels. The stenciling on the face of the barrels was applied (Freehanded) in 2 coats in Snow White Milk Paint. The checkerboard tops was also painted freehand in Holiday Red and Lamp Black Milk Paint. The checkerboard tops and bottoms of each barrel recieved 2 coats hand apllied of New Pine Gel Stain. I finished the barrels with spraying 3 coats of Exterior 450 Water Based Top Coat. I removed the tape from the metal rings, and sprayed them using a satin laquer black finish. They proudly sit in a few downtown businesses with chairs and checkers for customers to enjoy...
