Found this antique Vanity online & was sure I had to grab it even though it was quite a distance from my home. Wasn't sure where to go with this piece & as you can see from the photos, at first I went with a masculine vibe & then after I saw what I had done, I had to re-do it & it had to go white. The whole piece was sanded down & the top veneer was re-glued back all along the edge. When I had first done the piece in black, I had given the legs a complete makeover from old & grungy to something sophisticated. The legs were re-done using General Finishes Amber dye stain as the base & General Finishes Black Cherry Wood stain on top. Legs were sealed with Minwax clear satin Polyurethane. The body of the piece was re-done in General Finishes Snow White Milk Paint & Sealed with General Finishes Satin top coat. I wanted to piece to have some flair so I found this beautiful paper & used Modge Podge to ahere it to the piece. All of the Modge Podged paper was sealed with General Finishes Satin top coat. I paired the piece with an antique piano stool, which was done in GF Snow White Milk paint & stained exactly in the same manner as the legs on the vanity. What a beauty & I had no problem selling this one. Although, we were all sad to see this one leave the house. It was truly one of a kind!
