Inspired by the tranquil waters of the sea and the mythical Mermaids that swim in them, this vintage wardrobe was given a Mermaid style makeover. Like most little girls, my daughter Charlotte likes everything sparkly and she is especailly fond of Mermaids these days. It was no surprise to me when she said she wanted me to paint this wardrobe, to be used in her bedroom, "like a Mermaid". My goal was to create a finish that would satisfy her Mermaid craving, but that would also grow with her and her future tastes.
Painted in a custom mix of Patina Green and Snow White milk paint. Patina Green and Klein Blue milkpaint was mixed with Champagne Pearl Effects and blended. A final coat of Champagne Pearl Effects was added to give the wardrobe that extra dose of shimmer that Charlotte wanted. Sealed with Flat out Flat topcoat. New white ceramic and glass knobs were added.
