I took an ugly beat up old dresser and Upcycled it into a card catalog/map cabinet.
First I removed all the drawer framing, trim and hardware. Then removed the chest's top and trim from the sides. I reframed the chest, replacing the stretchers and rails. Then cut each slat and box front, sanded and stained individually. I cut and added shaker details to the sides and trim, installed all the hardware and then put the finish on the entire piece.
The chest of drawers was sitting by the dumpster for the trash man and now a gorgeous storage chest!
