Little Black Hutch

By Rusted & Rescued, Owner

This little hutch has always been one of my favorites.  This poor thing smelled so badly, it's a shame a photograph can't accurately convey that.  The back of the top section needed to be completlely replaced.  After several really good cleanings with an array of products and cutting out a new piece of luan for the back, it received a good coating in one of my favorite go-to colors...Lamp Black....however, it still needed something.  Then I remembered I had aquired some fabric that had some old hand written quill & ink script on it which would really set it off.  I used spray adhesive to carefully attach the fabric to the new luan.  I then distressed it so some of the wood peaked thru.  I touched it up with some dark stain and coated the piece in High Performance Top Coat in Flat.
