Not your typical makeover here!! I picked up the grandfather clock in hopes of just painting it, but once I got it home & really looked at it, I just couldn't. I mean, the face on that clock though. It was definitely outdated & I didn't want to try to find a new face for it online. So instead of a "facelift", I ripped off the face & tore out all the guts of the clock!! The only way to re-do this piece was to change into a display unit. So, I found some great paper full of clock faces to line the inside with & repainted the whole piece in General Finishes Halcyon Blue & aged it all with General Finishes Black Glaze Effects. Finally, I sealed with with General Finishes Flat topcoat. I created a couple of shelves inside great for displaying photos. I LOVED doing this piece & would definitely do this again. The lady who puchased it said she had been looking for a couple of years for a unique piece for narrow spot in her house. What a fit!
