Henredon Campaign Dresser

Finding a Henredon Campaign style dresser is like finding a needle a haystack; they just don't come along very often! This dresser was a perfect candidate for an update/restoration: the frame was missing some pretty sizeable chunks of veneer, but the dark stained & paint speckled drawers were in near perfect condition. And of course it had that impeccable build that has earned the Henredon brand top marks in the furniture world for years.

After cleaning and puttying damage to the frame, I sanded, primed, and sprayed several coats of Antique White. The drawers were chemically stripped, lightly sanded, and stained with Antique Walnut gel stain. This lighter stain updated the drawer fronts considerably. The drawers were then top coated with Arm-R-Seal; the frame was sprayed with several coats of High Performance top coat.

After several hours spent stripping and polishing seventy-six brass screws, 15 plates, and 12 pulls, I installed the hardware and was done!  A labor of love indeed!
