My spouse came home from work wearing a huge grin. "Honey! Look what I found on the curb!"
What he found was a very vintage hand made Chest. Every knob is slightly different. The feet are all different sizes and the drawers depths are inconsistent, yet it is stunningly beautiful......now.I wanted to do a very distressed look and keep the beautiful drawer fronts stained. The exterior was stained and painted blue. I was used GF Chocolate Brown Milk Paint as an undercoat. The undercoat camouflaged any bleed through I might get and peaked through when I distressed the white top coat. After the brown dried I applied a light coat of furniture wax to the edges and any area I wanted to distress. I buffed the wax and applied two coats of GF Snow White Milk Paint and distressed by doing a wet sponge to wipe off the white. I refreshed the drawer faces with GF Antique Walnut gel stain and sealed everything with a GF Flat Top Coat.
To complete the chest I painted and sealed the drawer interiors and sides with GF Lamp BlackMilk paint.
