General Finishes

This is a Drexel sideboard from the Triune collection, circa 1960s. The top was stripped, sanded, stained using General Finishes Java Gel and then sealed with General Finished High Performance Top Coat in Satin. The body of the sideboard was refinished using General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint, lightly distressed on outer edges and sealed with General Finished High Performance Top Coat in Satin. The left door opened up to two deep shelves, the middle two doors opened up to three large drawers which were also refinished, and the right door opened up to small drawer and one deep shelf. New corresponding hardware was added.  This was on the original casters and still rolled very easily. This piece was very large and heavy, measuring approximately 77.5" x 19" x 30.5".  The excellent craftsmanship by Drexel was very apparent with this piece and I am certain that by refinishing it with General Finishes products it will last another 50+ years.
