This all about pine piece came to me after being thrown out to the dump.

It was crying out for a beautiful polished look that only the Java Gel Stain finished with a satin high performance top coat can give.

After sanding and cleaning this little piece, I generously applied the java gel stain to the top.  4 coats later I had the wonderful full bodied colour I wanted.

The colour to compliment the stained top was found in the what I call the summer take me to the beach colour, introducing Persian blue milk paint.

and Linen for a soft warm addition.

After applying the first coat of these colours I lightly sanded and continued to do so through all 4 coats.

I wanted the Persian blue to shine a little bit so instead of using the flat top coat I used the satin. applying 4 coats simply to make it that little bit extra durable.  Sanding in-between coats gave me a silky-smooth glass like finish.

I applied flat top coat to the linen, using the same method.

I am now delighted to be left with a beautifully hand painted dressing table.

Adding a little pop to the drawer handles with a generous coat of the Java Gel stain finsihed with the satin high performance top coat.
