Cadillac Ranch

This little bed makes a big statement! Upcycled corral panels from a cattle ranch in ND were used for the side rails and footboard.  The headboard was an old door tucked away from an abandoned  farmstead in ND.  An old weathered cedar post from our local lumber yard was used for the chunky legs. They all came together into this solid full size bed that  creates the perfect piece in this cowboy retreat.

The corral panels were scrubbed, bleached, powerwashed and sanded to get rid of any farm critter that was tagging along.  The door was stripped of multiple upon multiple layers of enamel paint that had the same greasy handprint in every paint layer by the doorknob.  They were stained in GF Salem and protected with GF High Performance in flat. Chicken wire baskets and little shelves were added on the headboard for added storage and rusty bolts were added to the frame to give it some old charm. Isn't it adorable?
