Vintage Oak Desk Meets Industrial

By Two Perfect Imperfections, Designer & CEO in HAMPTON, VA.

We found a old huge HEAVY oak desk, that no one seemed to want as it was and it was asking for new life. So it we did a “Little” surgery!

We took the whole desk apart. The husband part of our husband and wife team, cut the 2.5' top and routed the sides. The wife removed all extra springs, metal and sanded the boxes of each side table. Once sanded General Finishes Antique Walnut was used to stain all of the wood. Antique Walnut is our favorite color because it seems to grab the charactor of each piece differently. Wipe on polyurtheane was used as a top coat to seal the finish. Threee or more coats were applied.

We added some new hardware and front locking wheels. Three drawers on the left and a door with a spring loaded pull out tray on the right(not very easy but it does pull out).

We hope you enjoy this upcycled project as much as we enjoyed building it!
