All the credit for this one has to go to my client. She chose the color, fabric and appliques but i did coax her into a little bling. This antique sewing box was a treasured item that she wanted it to be useful so now it houses her big and chunky jewelry that wont fit in to her jewelry box.
After completely dissembling, cleaning and sanding, the small wooden appliques she had purchased were added and it was painted with Heirloom Traditions Alexandrite. The added decoration, knobs and legs were then accented with Dazzling Metallics Glorious Gold and all the pieces were then sealed with GF HPTC Flat. All new hardware was purchased in bright gold to go along with the new bling. After hours of pulling my hair out trying to put this puzzle back together, I enlisted the help of my handy dandy fiance who eventually figured where every piece went so that it closed correctly. A lesson was learned to map out pieces when dissembling a piece and my client absolutely loves the end results!
