Stone finished chairs

By Chelsea Evans, Furniture Artist at Apple Blossom Way in Salem, UT.

So many hours went into refinishing these mahogany chairs. Each chair (and there were 8 total) was paint painted in a layering technique going from dark to light.

The seats were removed, sanded, stained in Jacobean, and sprayed with polyurethane for shine and durability.

Painted areas were glazed with an oil based gel glaze in van dyke brown. This muted the colors while still allowing different tones to shine through.

Chairs were sealed with minwax polycrilic in semi gloss for a glossy smooth feel.
