“Scarab” is an Egyptian inspired mulberry hollow form with African Blackwood accents and multi-axis turned finial. The bow ties are inlayed charcoal and epoxy to serve as both aesthetic and structural purposes. Multiple applications of tung oil bring depth and brightness to this piece, combined with a Renaissance wax top coat to create a rich depth with a protective finish. At 6 and 1/2 inches wide by 5 and 3/4 inches tall, this unique piece brings all eyes to its attention.
