Paris Radio

By Eastcote Lane, Teresa in Wayne, PA.

I love these old radio cabinets! This is an Atwater Kent Cabinet.. the radio long gone, but this gorgeous cabinet left for dead :-(

Replaced the back with glass that I did a faux mercury glass finish on with looking glass spray paint along with black, copper and gold...I wanted to create that old mirror look you see in old paris parlours :-)  I painted the cabinet with Autentico Vintage in Nocturnal, and then trimmed with General General Finishes Antique White, and did a really light Pitch black glaze over the white for age.. I wanted it to look like bone or ivory.I finished the whole piece inisde and out with Autentico Dark Brown Wax for warmth.

It is the perfect size for bottles on the bottom and glasses on the top shelf, making the coolest little home bar evahhh!!! The doors in front still look like a little theatre to me, and I really considered painting them a deep red... but thought it might be too much, I just loved it the way that it is!

a la votre!
