This Old Gal Rustic Buffet came to us just being old and worn and rickety. After lots of repairs and rebuilding and reinforcing, she went under the paint brush to bring out her inner beauty. I decided to run with her old and rustic vibe and yet accentuate her beautiful lines and gorgeous detail all at the same time. Her gorgeous finish is the result of layers and layers of paint, blended with water and texturized with a pallet knife. The topping glory to her finish was a spray mist with vinegar water for extra interest in her amazing layers. To further enhance her beauty, she was sealed with a matte varnish and then detail glazed with black and brown glazes. Another coat of varnish to seal her up good and then detailed black and brown waxing in the corners and crevices. She is now a stately before Old Gal ready to enjoy being the centerpiece in her new owner’s home.
