I painted this Octo Table freehand with no stencils or tracing aids. I drew inspiration for this piece from old antique book illustrations and posters. I made several sketches on paper before it was directly sketched out/painted with snow white. After the sketch was completed and I felt the lines flowed well with the table, I filled in the image with snow white. I had to make sure that the brush was constantly diped in water to get a smooth line with no bumps. Once the image was what I considered perfect I added the driftwood around the octopus painting to ensure the lines had crisp edges. After the top was finished I painted the bottom with snow white.
