General Finishes

This table was painted freehand with no stencils or tracing. I was inspired by antique illustrations when I made this. I first painted the table coastal blue, then white washed the whole table with snow white. I made sure the wash was heavy in the creases. I then dry brushed another coat of coastal blue in spots where the light naturaly hit. After the entire table was finished I added the whale and the squid to the top. In order to get the crisp lines and uniform texture I made sure to routinely keep my brush wet and clean.
