Heartbeat of the City

By Paula Basnett in Reidsville, NC.

This gorgeous heartthrob is dressed up and ready to take the stage and he is definitely a scene stealer.

A fractured, gold metallic band marries the high contrast of the white and black. It’s reminiscent of a skyline reflected on a lake or rhythmic soundwaves.

The transformation began with a good cleaning and drawer repair. The parnished brass harware was cleaned by soaking in a mixture of vinegar and water.

This masculine hunk was basecoated in Valspar Snowcap White and Dark Kettle and blinged out by drybrushing FolkArt Metallic Acrylic Paint in bright gold around the dresser. The look is completed by a touch of Rub 'N Buff applied over the metallic paint.

This a stunning dresser but it would also be a stand-out storage piece in a living room or entryway, a TV stand or linen “closet” - any place that needs some storage with presence!
