General Finishes

This antique headboard and footboard were saved from the curb!  The ornate carvings caught my eye, and I knew these pieces would make a beautiful High-back bench.  The footboard was cut in half and used as the arms and sides of the bench.  The headboard served as the back rest. A slab of wood was added for the seat. After re-construction, the entire bench was painted in Fusion Mineral Paint Sterling.  The ornate carvings were accented using Silver Rub and Buff.  The entire piece was sealed in Fusion Mineral Paint Tough Coat.  New upholstery and padding were added to the seat. This headboard and footboard now serve as a cozy bench, big enough to share with a friend or two!
