The General

By Shawna Wood at PaintopiaStudio in Shreveport, LA.

This beautifully crafted piece has been reimagined with weathered shades of gray. The top was completely stripped back to natural wood and simply clear coated with General Finishes HPTC Flat, but not before adding a subtle edge of gold foil to accentuate those pretty curves. Queenstown Gray is the darkest shade, add in a layer of Driftwood and finally a wash of Antique White to give a time worn cloudy day hue. To brighten up those grays a subtle use of Pale Gold is used to warm it up and bring it all together. The feet finished in gold also had a layer of gold foil added for sparkle & definition. Did you notice the horse painting? Let me introduce you to "The General". You see he is painted using all General Finishes paints too!!!
