In a previous life, this blind china cabinet had a blonde oak finish. The carvings and detailing were lost in the monotone wood grain. To breathe new life into this stellar piece, multiple layers of Gray Limoge and Palace Gray paint were applied using drybrushing and wet distressing techniques. Burnished and Champagne Pearl Effects were then applied to highlight the carvings and detailing. For further enhancement, Van Dyke Glaze was applied sparingly with a chip brush. A very light application of Argentine Pearl Effects was then applied as a finishing touch. High Performance Top Coat in Flat was applied to protect the finishes. The combination of the layered paints and metalics finishes produced a one of a kind treasure unique unto its own.
