This is a 1950s antique buffet that was originally in an iconic hotel in Milford pa. The executivecheftook it home when the hotel closed. It has been in his family ever since. His grandson recently renovated their long time family home. This buffet is the only original piece of furniture left. After sitting in their garage for two years they came across my website for custom furnitjre and asked me to give it a second chance. I first cleaned it thoroughly. To avoid sending the original finish I treated the project for mold growth and then applied Java gel in one layer. Following that I applied three Layers of black gel stain and allowed the Java to peek through. The top has six layers of flat poly and the rest has three layers. The inside of the drawer was reupholstered.
