This antique buffet is from 1837! Unfortunately it had a horrid sticky red paint job so I had to completely sand it down, making getting in the detailed crevices impossible without destroying the detail. So, I base coated it in Snow White Milk Paint, making sure to get in all the crevices to cover the current red. I then put the next two coats of Earl Gray Chalk Style Paint. I then lightly distressed on all the detail, letting the white shine through. Lastly, I dry brushed Bronze Pearl Effects on all the detailed areas and then topped that with Champagne Pearl Effects. This gave it a 3D effect. Prior to painting Java, I coated the top and sealed everything three times with Satin High Performance.
