Julie McDowell was born in the UK and emigrated to Vancouver BC in 2002 with her husband, 3 children and an orange cat. Having had a successful art career and following Julie made furniture her canvas in 2014, applying her fine arts skills to the exciting challenge of transforming wood furniture into works of art. She is the founder of the rapidly growing Facebook Group Paint It Forward. The group is a collective of artists dedicated to giving back to their communities.
In 2017 Julie started a Facebook group offering free tips and techniques, her group has grown to 36,000 in a year.
