General Finishes

I was so excited to find a bonnet top dresser in rough condition because I really wanted to paint one!  This piece has such beautiful lines, details and hardware I decided to keep the paint simple. I sanded the piece with 220 and cleaned with the denatured alcohol and water solution.  I used my Wagner Flexio sprayer and Snow White Milk Paint to apply several light coats.  Light sanding between coats with a flexible sanding pad to ensure a smooth finish.  I did get some spots of bleed through as I was painting.  Those areas were sanded a bit and sprayed with Zinsser Clear Shellac and repainted.
