Hi!  I began Gravity Hill Furnishings a couple of years ago out of my need to be creative and have a job that allows for great flexibility for my family. That's not to say I don't put in the hours.  They're just not usually 9 to 5. The downside for my family is that I am less creative in the kitchen these days.

I am proud to be a certified General Finishes Retailer because I love the products and the company.   It's nice to work with and support a business whose business model is to support us.

I have two retail booths where I sell restyled furnitureand I sell GF products in two locations. I have been known to occasionally do custom work as well. In the near future, I hope to do some projects for my own family.  I really enjoy talking to customers about their DIY projects!  Answering their questions, sharing my how to knowledge or helping them determine what color they want  I'd love to connect with you on social media.  Just look for Gravity Hill Furnishings on Facebook and Instagram

Heirloom Oak Table Revival

By Michelle Gabbard at Gravity Hill Furnishings in Mooresville, IN.

Winning Category

It's hard to believe this table top and skirt were one wrapped in Formica. My client explained to me this was the table he grew up eating at. His mother had it covered with Formica to protect if. When he and his wife inherited this set they removed the Formica. Unfortunately chunks of wood also left with the Formica and adhesive remained. The clients did an amazing job sanding the top of the table and removing the adhesive. They wanted the table too stained to coordinate with woodwork in their kitchen.

Something Old, Something Blue

By Michelle Gabbard at Gravity Hill Furnishings in Mooresville, IN.

Winning Category

When I came across the 5 Minute Designer Knobs project from apieceofrainbow.com I knew I had to use them on a dresser!  Months later I found the dresser missing hardware and knew these would be perfect

After proper prep, the dresser was painted with Snow White Milk Paint by brush. The wood knobs were prepped and painted with Coastal Blue Milk Paint.  The decoupage design was  applied and sealed with several coats of HPTC.

I love the contrast of the Coastal Blue and Snow White together!

Snow White and the Bonnet Top

By Michelle Gabbard at Gravity Hill Furnishings in Mooresville, IN.

Winning Category

I was so excited to find a bonnet top dresser in rough condition because I really wanted to paint one!  This piece has such beautiful lines, details and hardware I decided to keep the paint simple. I sanded the piece with 220 and cleaned with the denatured alcohol and water solution.  I used my Wagner Flexio sprayer and Snow White Milk Paint to apply several light coats.  Light sanding between coats with a flexible sanding pad to ensure a smooth finish.  I did get some spots of bleed through as I was painting.
