Mid Century Modern Sideboard Facelift!

By Lisa Vassallo at Timeless Furniture Resto by Lisa in Manahawkin, NJ.

I really just started refinishing about 7 months ago... I fell in love with it.  So when I spotted this MCM piece, I knew I had to attempt this!!! Started with a plain brown MCM sideboard!  I wasn't sure if I should paint it at first but after doing some research, I decided to.  I first painted the outer parts of the drawers black but didn't like the way it was turning out so I ordered General Finishes Milk Paint in Driftwood and BOOM!  PERFECT contrast!  I sanded down the top of the piece and stained in a custom mix of different colors. I wanted it to have a multi dimensional feel on top.  The grey was applied to all drawer fronts and doors. I left the original finish on the drawer fronts and sides because it was in good shape... so I used Howard's Restor a Finish to bring it back to life!  I updated the hardware to something modern and to fit the "lines" of the piece.  I also lined the inside drawers in some colorful fabric to break up the grey and brown!

This piece is so beautiful that pictures just don't do it justice!
