Once a vanity painted lavender, but all the details of something just waiting to be revealed and enhanced - I stripped the whole piece first, only to find the top had been replaced with plywood - no pretty woodgrain found there. Â However, there was bird's eye maple on portions of it. Â This was a custom piece, however, so I set out to marry the old with the new in design and function - stripes, raised stenciling, stenciling and glazing, and hand-painting to look worn on the edges. Â She now serves as the reception desk in an organic hair salon in my home town. Â
