Texturized Hemlock & Mahogany Cocktail Table

By Jason A Bedre

This cocktail table is made of VG Hemlock on a mahogany base. All joints are mitered and fitted with loose tenons. First the top was scorched with a torch to remove the soft growth of the hemlock. Next the top was wire-brushed to expose the texture. The color was achieved with General Finishes Dye Stain, "pewter" sprayed on. The top-coat is General Finishes pre-cat Urethane, flat. The base is mahogany, joined with a half-lap. The color was achieved with General Finishes Dye Stain, medium brown followed by General Finishes EnduroVar, satin. Dimensions are 17"h x 30" x 43".
