These gorgeous geometric barstools got an amazing face lift thanks to General Finishes Java Gel Stain and Wipe On Urethane. I added a hint of turquoise dry brushing and elegant copper legs to accent the beautiful dark wood.
My go-to technique for the Gel Stain and urethane is quite simple: I wear a latex glove and then put a sock over my hand. I use the sock to apply the stain and urethane, and use the back of my hand to wipe off any excess. It allows me to get a better feel for the texture of the wood, identify any mistakes, and get a nice smooth coating that a brush just can't get. An added bonus: clean up is a breeze.
