I walked by this mid century piece at my local thrift store 3 times before I stopped to actually open and close its drawers. I spouse walked by and said, "it will fit". Huh?
Oh! It will fit in the vehicle we were driving.....hahaha! Anytime he's onboard with buying furniture I jump in it.
The dresser is solid Maple and made in Wisconsin. Several of the top knobs were missing but the bottom are all original.
I considered staining this piece but when I looked at it, it didn't scream retro cool, so I modernized it by paintings it a clean and simple white. White is misleading. It appears simple but it's not. As any experienced painter knows, vintage pieces tend to bleed through. To combat this is used two coats of GF Stain Blocker. The first coat pulls out the tannins. The second coat seals them. Then I applied two coats of GF Snow White Milk Paint and sealed it with GF Satin Top Coat.
I think the results are fabulous.
