HOTEL PERRIN

By Christine

This was my first image transfer project and I'm trilled with the outcome.  I found this waterfall buffet on Craigslist for $20 and she sat in the garage until I found the perfect design for her. The body is painted with plaster of paris homemade chalk paint and the top is GENERAL FINISHES JAVA GEL and sealed with GENERAL FINISHES HIGH PERFORMACE TOP COAT.  I found the Hotel Perrin design on The Graphics Fairy and the design on the doors was just an internet search.  For the Hotel Perrin design I took the image into my photo program, reversed the image and resized to fit the size of the drawers.  The image on the doors was just a square design but to make it fit the size of the doors I resized in my photo program. I really like the way it distorted the image into this real really cool design.  I then sent all the images to Staples to print.  I always print on the engineered prints because the paper is thinner and easier to remove after it has dried.  To apply the image I cut it out close to the image and apply with modge podge.  Apply the modge podge on the project and slowly add the image.  I start at one side and use a credit card to ensure all the bubbles are removed. After it has dried I wet the paper and roll it off with my fingers.  I like to let it dry again then come back with wet fine sand paper to remove the rest of the paper.  The images were then sealed with GENERAL FINISHES HIGH PERFORMANCE TOP COAT. The knobs are from Hobby Lobby.  I love this piece and enjoy sharing my work.
