Freebie Flip

Yes! This was for free! I was shopping at a local church yard sale and everyone kept overlooking this piece. Guessing it was partly because of the drab 80s look but also because the drawers were not functioning properly. After having a converstation with the wonderful lady running the sale, she asked for my card so that she could contact me for future sales. (I bought a lot of furniture that day! haha) I also chose to leave without. The next day she called....nobody took the ugly dresser. She insisted on giving it to me, at no charge, on one condition...I make it beautiful again! We just happen to need a new cabinet for our rather oversized television so the media cabinet renovation began.

I started by removing the 2 top drawers and using reclaimed wood (fence pickets from our old fence we replaced) to build out the shelving where our components would go. Each one sanded to a smooth finish. I sealed them with GF High Performance Satin Top Coat and I love how it brought out all the beautiful colors of the grain. I chose the GF Dark Chocolate Milk Paint for the top and GF Antique White for the base with a bit of distressing around the edges. The drawers are all painted in GF Persian Blue and lined with a fun print. I absolutely LOVE how this piece turned out. The after pictures are what I used on my social media sites before I placed it in our living room with our enormously large tv on it!
