Famous Hollywood Dresser

Okay, so it's not famous, but it should be! From its humble, guttersnipe Eliza Doolittle beginnings, this dresser was transformed with the help of General Finishes products into the classy My Fair Lady!

Using a primer base to begin, I painted with an aged gray and antique white chalk-type paint, sanding between coats. Then, General Finishes Pearl Effects in Champagne was meticulously added to the white areas to add shimmer and pizzaz to the carved details. The painted areas were then topcoated using three coats of High Performance Top Coat in satin sheen.  The top of the dresser was stained using two coats of Brown Mahogany gel stain that was wiped back. It was top coated using Gel Topcoat wipe on urethane in Satin sheen.

This was a transformation of Pygmalion proportions!
