This gorgeous cedar chest was a client of mines mothers who received it for a wedding present. My clients father had painted the chest white when he was in his 80's and was suffering from dementia. After the passing of her parents she inherented the chest and asked me to refinish it for her and she wanted it stained in a cherry color. I had never tried General Finishes Gel stains but thought I'd give it a go. Aftre spending 3 weeks getting all the white paint off this and it back to its original cedar wood I bit my lip and applied General Finishes Georgian Cherry Gel Stain to it and was stunned at how pretty it was!! The base was finished off in the gel stain and sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat. The lid is painted in a black chalk paint and sealed with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat as well. Needless to say my client was so excited when she picked this piece up she was in tears!
