Blue Lagoon Buffet

By Kristi Lynn in Austin, Tx, Creative Artist & Designer at Kristi Lynn Collection

Found this two piece china cabinet on a sale site on FB for pocket change! After days of contemplating, I decided to only restyle the bottom half so that it could be multi-functional (buffet, entry table, tv stand, etc)! She was in decent shape so not much prep work needed other than repairing a small chip in the wood and giving her a good cleaning using De-Natured Alcohol. I'm new to milk paint so I decided to go with the GF Dark Chocolate on the top. Loved it!! Then for the body, I decided to do mulitple layers of color. Base is GF Persian Blue Milk Paint with light distressing around edges. I then glazed it with GF Van Dyke Brown wiping away quickly just to give it a hint of color. I then did the dry brush technique using GF Antique White Milk Paint. I wanted just a bit more sheen so I did a top coat with GF High Performance Satin. I used the original hardware and updated them in Rustoleum Oil Rubbed Bronze. She sold within a few hours of being listed!! The top hutch is currently being upcycled into a hall shelving unit. I am a very new user of this fabulous line of products and I love the ease of them!!
