Antique Desk Revival

By Patti Hamlin, Owner at Repeat Offenders Inc.

This small antique oak desk was in critical condition when I found it. Broken, smelly and close to terminal; this antique drop top desk was in desperate need of intensive care. Extensive repairs were made in our Repeat Offenders Inc shop, but the finish was still in bad shape. I used a combination of Snow White Milk Paint, and Glaze Effects in Van Dyke Brown on the body of the desk. I used Java Gel Stain on top, the desk surface and the interior. The entire desk was given two coats of High Performance Top coat in Satin, on both inside and outside for a smooth, soft finish. I added designer fabric to the interior of the desk and the drawers to complete the revival of this sweet little antique desk.
