This vanity was aptly named, Roxy!  This vanity started out in all white and I wanted to go in another direction.  I was feeling a rock n roll, leather, nailheads vibe - maybe because I was listening to Guns n Roses while I was cleaning her?

This lovely 1928 bedroom set was dreaming of a new look, one that would take her from dark and dingy to fabulous! 

Glossy black paint, decoupaged watercolor tissue paper and a glimmer of gold made that dream a reality. A bit of texture and distressing to show the layers of pink and yellow took it right over the top. 

She's a watercolor dream-come-true! 

An old map and some navy paint was all it took to cheer up a sad old oak file cabinet! After coating the piece with navy blue paint, I decopaged a map onto the drawer fronts. I lightly distressed then sealed the whole piece with High Performance Top Coat in Satin. The original brass hardware got a gentle cleaning, to retain some patina. 

This piece was an inspiration from my daughter and her need for a large hutch in her salon. I was on a very strict timeline with this piece and I wasn't able to stage it appropriately. I started with GF Stain blocker on the entire piece then  painted with a Base coat of custom grey followed by a coat of MM Silver Metallic and GF Pitch Black Glaze. Bottom doors were then foiled with a rose pattern, crackled, then glazed with GF Van Dyke Brown.

My client asked me to come up with a creative design for her uninspired square table. After finding that it wasn't "strippable", I pulled out a toll of blue painters tape and a bunch of paints and glazes. What I came up with was a barn door feel but a little less barn, slightly more modern farmhouse. I love the outcome and so does my client!

I found this diamond in the rough online advertised as a Pinterest fail. Their loss my gain, right! An entire day of heat guns and sanding I had to change gears. Made lemonade out of lemons. Got creative and hid the deep gouges with a paintable wallpaper. Turned out fantastic. The amazing client contacted me year later to have matching nightstands made. Win win. 

Sets of pine drawers revamped in Antique White and  hand stencilling of pink roses and stalks etc, I used a mix of stencilling and decoupage to choice this look, this was for a vintage embed bedroom which was all floral and chintzy 

I purchased a can of GF Bayberry Green and waited patiently to use it until the perfect piece came along. This cute but boring wood chest was in need of love. Using Bayberry Green as the backdrop and hand-stenciled using GF Snow White, I created an Indian bone inlay design that costs bajillions over at Anthropologie. I loved this one so much, I just couldn't part with it. Now I use it to store my paint brushes and hardware.

What teen or tween girl wouldn't love studying at this cheery little "Stripes and Polka Dots" desk?  Done in General Finishes Coral and accented with Snow White it offers a bright and comfortable spot for studying or just being creative.  A protective coat of General Finishes High Performance Top Coat in Flat was added for extra protection.  The six paper lined drawers with wooden shell handles offer a good amount of storage for all those important papers and treasures.

This IKEA INGO table was given a fresh back to school update.  The table was stained in General Finishes Antique Walnut gel stain and stenciled using the "Herringbone Shuffle" stencil by Royal Design Studios.  The table was sealed in General Finishes High Performance topcoat.

This gorgeous western Armoire was painted in GF Milstone milk paint, slightly distressed, glazed with Van Dyke Brown, and sealed with GF HP Topcoat. 

The drawer fronts were covered in anaglypta, painted with GF Lamp Black milk paint and Rustoleum brown chalk paint, then sealed with GF HP Topcoat. 

This vintage waterfall dresser didn't need much in the way of repairs.  After prepping this old gal for paint, she received a couple coats of Driftwood milk paint as the base.  We followed it up with a thinned coat of Antique White to give it the appearance of age.  We found an vintage French Parfume ad that would fit perfectly on the front of the dresser.  We then hand painted the details of the ad on the face of the dresser, followed by some additional distressing for an even more aged appearance.  The entire piece was sealed with High Performance Poly in Satin for protection.

I built and painted this curved front wall cabinet to commemorate my daughters playing in her high schools state golf tournament. The inlays are faux mother of pearl, red tortoise shell, and  melachite. The cabinet and hand paintings are chalk paint. One of her golf balls is used as the knob. The inside door panels are decoupaged scorecards from the various courses she played her senior year. 

This American Martinsville Dresser was refinished in several color mixes. The peach color is a blend of :Coral Crush 2 parts, Sunglow 1 part. Snow white 2 parts. The blue is a mix of Hynacith blue 3parts to Emerald 1part. The mint green is 1 part Emerald and 2 pars snow white. To top it off with Argentine pearl effects and HPTC

This Lammerts dresser got a nautical themed makeover.  Painted in Coastal Blue and Antique White with a handpainted custom mixed grey anchor.   

Stunning vintage Henredon Buffet color washed in Coastal Blue and sealed with High Performance Top Coat in Satin. The top has been stained Antique Walnut gel stain and sealed with Arm r Seal in Satin. Original hardware was updated with vintage copper spray paint.. The center doors open to 3 drawers, the top one lined for storing your fine silver.

When creating a coastal look, there's no better color than Coastal Blue! The deep navy milk paint created the perfect foundation for the nautical theme on this Watchmaker's Desk. The drop-down desk folds up to create a second top, which makes it very versatile. The stenciling was done with Art Minds chalk paint in Porcelain. The stencils are from Cutting Edge Stencils. General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Satin completed the piece.

I really had a strong desire to use yellow, orange, and red togther.  Like the sunset.  Add in a little color of the clouds & water and you have Sunset Dreams!  Used some GF Sunglow, GF Persimmon, and GF Holiday Red to create the base colors of this dresser.  Add in some blues, grays, creams and a bit of GF Van Dyke Brown to complete the look!

Lightened Royal purple with Snow White and a black glaze technique to pop the already beautiful purple appearing through. 

 Being an older piece I was worried about some bleedthrough  so I covered the entire piece with some satin enduro-var urethane.  Hope it works! The colors on this we're pretty interesting.  I used milk paint! I started with a Queenstown gray base coat. I covered the lower portion of the chest and other areas that needed some darkening with a mixture of coastal blue and the green patina. I highlighted certain areas with persimmon and then did a thinner wash over the whole piece with a mix of patina green, halcyon blue, and Klein blue.

This unusual secretary desk lended itself to something different.  I choose stenciling, but with a twist.  Rather than using layers of paint to create the stencil effect, I stenciled General Finishes Milk Paint in Linen over the existing wood finish.  As a result, the warm wooden finish shows through the stencil.  All-over distressing further enhances the effect creating a one of a kind design.

Solid wood side table made by Drexel for the Saint Louis Ritz Carlton Hotel now with decoupage birds for a fun and rustic update. 

General Finishes Chalk Paint in Fjord Blue was used on the body of this bookcase. The back was decoupaged with a vintage nautical wallpaper. The shelves were sanded down to reveal a light wood that was then sealed with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Satin along with the body of the dresser. 

Funtastical on soo many levels!  Why dine with a plain table when you can dine in style!  Painted all over with a lightened up GF Millstone and then stenciled diamonds in black. Added GF Van Dyke Glaze for shading and some beautiful gold floral stenciling.  Let's not forget the stripes on the leaf of the table!  And of course every dining table needs GF High Performance Top Coat to protect the awesome design from everyday use.

This dresser was inspired by a photo I saw in Southern Living magazine that incorporated emerald and blush in the decor. I custom mixed the colors using General Finishes Milk Paint and added bold decoupaged drawer fronts in a simple pretty paper from Spoonflower. The emerald green color was mixed using one part Emerald Milk Paint and one part Lamp Black Milk Paint. The blush color was created using one part Coral Crush Milk Paint and two parts Antique White Milk Paint.

This bifold door was given new life with texture mediums, gel mediums, Saltwash, & lots of color - Chocolate Brown, Patina Green, Persian Blue, Halycon Blue, Linen, Millstone, Holiday Red, Copper Pearl Effects, Van Dyke Glaze Effects, and High Performance Flat. It was created to be reversible, with the back being as sweet as the front is dark. The reverse side was created using Patina Green and Van Dyke, with paper decoupaged. It is one of my favorite all time projects.

Because of a sizeable burn to the top of this accent table, I decided to sand, stain with Java Gel, and do an all over stencil pattern to camouflage the flaw. The base and apron of the table was painted in Somerset Gold, sealed, then antiqued with glaze. After the stain had fully dried, I stenciled with Royal Design Studio's Sultan Swirl. The entire piece was then topped with two coats of High Performance top coat for added protection. 

This accent table's base was painted in Heirloom Traditions Paint in Rainy Day and then Fusion Inglenook.  The Inglenook was wet distressed to show some of the Rainy Day.  Gilding paste was used on the distressed areas.  The top was painted in Heirloom Traditions Manor House.  I then hand-stained the rose onto the top using Minwax Ebony stain.  It was all sealed with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat.

I've seen Empire buffets, tables and dressers. I've never seen an Empire vanity. That is until I found this one. Vanities are fun, but I felt it would be more valuable to today's buyer if I removed the mirror and upcycled it as a desk or entry way piece. With that in mind I chose a brown and metallic color scheme. Much of the veneer was missing and that is why I chose to decoupage and where to place the decoupage. 

A special request from my teenager! Layered with a Saltwash base, these are given depth with Patina Green, Halycon Blue, Summertime Blue, Key West Blue, Lamp Black, Antique White, Dark Chocolate, Holiday Red, Coral Crush, Emerald Green, & washed with Snow White. 

My spouse has a business partner. One day he showed up in my driveway withbthise Oak Cabinet. "Can you do something with it? He said. 

It was honey oak with 1980s style and HUGE brass pulls. I considered going farmhouse, distressed and changing out the pulls, but that was safe. I don't like safe. 

What do you see when you look at this piece? Some see a sunset, a mountain range, or even a cityscape. 

Me? I see over 80 hours of blood, sweat, and tears! Haha! 

My client wanted something different for her living room, and boy did she get it! With creative freedom to do whatever I wanted, I created this gorgeous weathered ombre finish using about a thousand different products and techniques. I could go into detail about every aspect of this piece, or I could just let it speak for itself. 

I choose the latter. 

Unique & Noteworthy! This well crafted French Provincial desk will keep your attention with all of its exquisite detailing. This is not just a functional piece of furniture, but a mixed media piece of art! I revived this piece by using professional quality chalk and mineral paints and then added layer upon layer of artwork, using stain as the predominant medium. Daisies, Damask, French Bee, Eiffel Tower, Butterlies ~~ you will find a little of all of these elements on this creative piece. These are not stencils, all of the artwork was done by hand using an oil-based stain.

This beauty was missing large pieces of vaneer when I brought it home. But saw how much beauty was waiting to shine with this curvy empire! I used bondo to fill in, and sand smooth. Then finished off wish a wash of General Finishes Lamp Black, and more coverage over areas that were repaired. I then sealed with General Finishes Flat Out Flat. 

To give it a more feminine look I added gorgeous crystal knobs! 

This gorgeous "Rustic Marries Modern" American of Martinsville manufactured dresser has been refinished using one of our newest techniques called the "Ombre Balayage". This unique design created by REHABArt has been inspired by 2 of todays most popular HAIR STYLES and is truly "One of a Kind".

This beautiful dresser was given a bohemian vibe using 9 different stencils. 

This old dark dresser was freshened up with two coats of paint in Snow Owl by Wise Owl paint. The stencils are all done in Weathervane, a dark brownish gray. 

The whole thing was finished with two coats of General Finishes High performance top coat in Flat

What a statement !

Layers of color create the depth and warmth of a Tuscan Sunset on this ornate piece. Starting with General Finishes Persimmon Milk Paint as the base, Nantucket Green Chalk Style Paint and Somerset Gold Milk Paint were then used to highlight the various areas. Once the colors were just right, they were sealed with High Performance Satin Top Coat to retain their vibrancy for the final layer. With a little Antique Walnut Gel Stain mixed into the Satin Top Coat, a perfect glaze was created to bring out the rich details through chip-brushing on and wiping off the excess.

Table Top was refinished in a color wash of  Driftwood Paint & Winter White Glaze. Table legs are painted in Antique White.

What's more fitting with an old desk but an old classic book.. Or whole lot of them. 

I was given shade guide by the client and that's about it.. I asked if she wanted safe or sound refinishing, she choose sound and I delivered. 

I've named this Bombay chest, The Bomb! She's curvy, vivacious and a mix of sassy and elegant. When I found her she was tan. A real Plain Jane. 

Fell in love with this Farmhouse style table. I accomplished this look by using only General Finshes produces. The legs are Antique White & the top is a color wash using Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects with Millstone and Linen sealed with GF Arm-R-Seal.  

An old forgotten mirror from a garage sale gets a fresh new look with a custom mix of General Finishes Chalk Paints in Empire Gray and Fjord Blue. Hand painted leaves in copper are scattered for a very natural look.

Grandma's old table got a "Wonder"ful  new look with layers of Chalk Paint and pretty Wonderland paper.  

Colors were layered on (with brushes and fingers) and distressed back, paper was layered and decoupaged, and the whole piece was sealed for durability. 

It's never "Too late, too late" for a great new look! 

This chest has been in my family for three generations and was built to stand the test of time.  I refinished the exterior in lamp black milk paint and a deep blue with a black glaze that has brought new life and a refreshed style.  I have left some of the decorative molded pieces in natural wood, adding a nice contrast to the black paint. The cedar interior remains unfinished and has that unmistakable fresh cedar fragrance.

      This Project was inspired by my love of French Toile Fabrics. I chose to dress up the chairs by gluing wood applique of scroll work to the tops of the chairs.  

     The table top was transformed using plaster and fabric to create texture, depth and imperfections,  a hallmark of the French. These pieces were painted a custom color of warm white.

This tired drop side coffee table was in serious need of refinishing. It sat around for a while before I figured out what I wanted to do with it. Then it came to me, a hand stained lotus flower! 

I free-hand a Lotus flower, and used General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain to shade out the flower. The edge of the coffee table was painted in General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint and then heavily distressed. I love how it turned out! It was finished off with three coats of General Finishes Gel Topcoat. 

I really wanted this china cabinet to have a wow factor, and to make it more modern.  The coastal blue milk paint is one of my favorite colors, and paired with the paper backing, it really upped it's game!

Picked up this coffee table at a firemans flea market. It was wobbly and drab! I knew exactly how to spruce it up! After getting it completely solid I refinished the bottom in General Finishes Coastal Blue and sealed it with General Finishes High Performance Top Coat. The top and bottom shelf I made look like rustic wood plankes (thats right its not real wood!!) by using Wood Icing textura paste and Wood Icing Tree Bark and Licorice stain. Adding the nautical knob to the drawer tied it all together! Ahoy!!

This amazing bar was first lightly sanded. We applied General Finishes Lamp Black as a wash to give this a rich stained look and sealed it with black wax for a deep matte finish (interior in High Performance Top Coat). New antique brass knobs complete this beautiful makeover.

There was nothing special about this drop leaf table when I found it at a yardsale.  It was given a light sand and stained with General Finishes Gel Stain in Java.  The base of the table was then painted in a homemade style chalk paint made with Valspar paint in Pure Silk and then distressed. The table top was decoupaged with one ply of napkins and sanded.  The entire table was then sealed using General Finishes High Perfomance Top Coat in Matte.  

In the 60's and 70's this little bar was filled with shakers n vermouth, lemon twist and olives. This in home bar was usually owned by someone who entertained often.  Thrown in storage with its original carnival amber glass and left for trash waiting to be removed, repurposed with a fresh, funky look using GF products to bring it back to life and into this day and time. Using Persimmon and Coastal Blue Milk Paint and sealing with GF top coat completes her new outfit.

These sweet little tables add a bit of fun to any room. Chalk painted, then stenciled and finally sealed with General Finishes High Performance for lasting durability of that great design! 

I found this piano in a Thrift store, and it was in a good condition to use as an instrument for my daughter who just started to take piano lessons. The idea to paint it appeared after a trip to Las Vegas. At that time we also moved to a new home in San Jose and wanted to create a colorful and inviting living space. I covered the piano with Snow White Milk Paint coat and used acrylic paints for geometric ornaments. I protected the surface with a coat of soft gel and several coats of hard MSA varnish. 

This boring sofa table was transformed into a stunning piece of art!  Using GF Seagul Gray on the entire base, followed with the product SALTWASH for texture.  I then added a custom Turquoise mix on the drawer fronts, followed with GF Coastal Blue.  To pull it all together I created drips with metallic silver, Turquoise and GF Coastal Blue.  Truly an amazing piece of functional art for the home.  One can't help but to dream of the ocean when looking at this piece.

Boho 9 drawer dresser 

Soooo many techniques were used on this. I used many colors of DIY chalk paints and texture medium along with crackle medium. I also used General Finishes milk paint in lamp black in a few areas to add a "dirty" aged appearance. After I was happy with the overall look I used a homemade glaze in burnt umber. The top of the dresser is done in golden pine General Finishes gel stain. From top to bottom it's sealed with General Finishes High Performance in flat. 

Ok- I DID happen to have a baby in the span of that year-which did slow things down a little, but it was well worth it. Whenever I had a spare moment, I would sneak out to my garage and stencil a bit of it. There was plenty of sweat from a sweltering 120 degree garage in the summer and a bit of frozen fingers that wouldn't quite paint in the chill of winter. I ended up hand tracing each and every angle since I didn't like the bleed from the stencil. It was a tedious labour of love, but I will remember this project fondly.

I love distressed and chippy furniture. One of my favorite colours is blue. In order to this I've combined all of the GF milk paint blues, added some green and white and created this piece.

First of all I sanded down old finish.

Vintage Waterfall nightstands painted in Linen Milk Paint. Drawers were decoupaged using shabby chic floral napkins and Heirloom Traditions 1Gel. Annie Sloan's dark wax was added for age and depth. 

Idea of Angel Wings on the Headboard of bed was with me for a long time...I just needed Bedframe demeged enough to experiment on it. 

I used soft masa clay and molded sculptured and carved each feather by hand and create wings.

Stencil with Quote was custom designed and made for me by Agnieszka HagArt. 

I used Miss Lillian's Texture Magic to create background looking like Old World Plaster and to make raised embossed stencil. 

The wood of this unique Love Planter was brought to life with a dry brush technique of General Finishes Chalk Style Paints. This fun, beach-y mix of Summertime Blue and Key West Blue is a refreshing splash of color, and a sure way to welcome your family and friends.

Sweet mahogany with all the right curves and carvings soaked up all the  beautiful GF Basil Milk paint with gold pearl finishes sealed with a glass finish of Eurovar. Snow white and bits of coastal blue and dark chocolate shading to make anyone stream all night long.

As an ode to my love of Halloween, I created this hand-painted dresser of Dracula's Castle!

High upon a mountain with a crashing sea below, sits this dark brooding castle of Count Dracula.

Hand painted in GF colors of Lamp Black, Klein Blue and Seagull Gray to name a few, along with blends of some other colors too.

This was a labor of love for me, I'm not sure how many hours were spent on him, time quietly slipped by entranced as I was.

This Chest of Drawers shocases a truly "One of a Kind" hand - drawn and painted design that features a whimsical owl design. The body is painted in a subtle aquamarine color and the drawer sides are decopauged with a contrasting black and white chevron fabric.General Finishes Antique White and Seagull Gray Milk Paint and various other colors were used to fill in the design.  The hardware has been refinished in an rub n' buff gold leaf and the entire surface sealed in a durable semi - gloss polyacrylic sealer. .

This Vanity is part of my Guest Bedroom Set and have Old World finishes look and feel. I was inspired by colors of many old paintings and Icons of Angeles- Gold..Grey Olive/Sage, and blues are the colors used by Lucca Giordano, Raphael , Boticelli to mention few.. I mixed colors on artist palette until I have achive shades I like. Then I used General Finishes Glazes to deepen the colors. I also used Pearl Effects for stencils on the sides of the vanity.. 

We were given this antique telephone table and I wanted it to be a fun entry-way piece.  I used Patina Green Milk Paint and glazed with  Van Dyke Brown Glaze Effects.  Even though most people don't have a use for traditional telephone tables anymore, this is the perfect mail and key drop spot.  The new owners of this piece love it!  

The "mean girl" chest turned into the "beauty" chest   It seems like every item of furniture I acquire comes with a story and I end up naming the furniture.  Can you believe this chest was called the “mean girl”?  Here is how it received the  mean girl name.  My amazing sister and I were trying to figure out how to carry this heavy chest down two stories of very narrow stairs when a little girl came up to my sister punched and then kicked her, ouch!  I guess this little girl was not happy to see this chest go, lol.

I needed a fun Americana project and when I got this table for a bargain it was on!  The measuring and figuring of the width of stripes and the placement of the stars was the most time consuming. I have done several Americana projects and this one was just as fun.  Holiday Red, Antique White and Costal Blue were the perfect colors for this then topped with dark wax for an amazing finnish.  Lamp Black for the bottom.

When this table came to us it was in pieces and unstable. It first had to be repaired. The previous finish coat was removed and the table was sanded. A light coat of General Finishes Gel Nutmeg Stain was applied and quickly removed just to freshen up the color of the table top. Multiple layers of Minwax Polyurethane in Gloss were applied to the top. The base was then painted in a home made chalk style paint using Valspar Paint in Pure Silk. A color wash in Cashmere was then applied to age the piece. Pure silk was applied and quickly removed to drawer pull to add demension.

This little piece was SO UGLY and outdated when I found it. It was black with some red and gold roses painted on it. 

Oh, how it longed to noticed again!

I painted this with Antique White Milk Paint and the Blue stripe color is a mix of :

-1 part Antique White Milk Paint 

-1.5 parts Coastal Blue Milk Paint (All GF)

I applied the decoupaged image with 1gel from Heirloom Traditions Paint and used their Liquid wax in Muddy Pond to give it all an "Aged" look. 

Because this vanity-turned-desk is low at a lil over 26" tall, I knew I had to come up with something to overcome it's height. I chose Antique White Milk Paint for its light color because a dark color would only make the desk look smaller. To further enhance the petite desk, I decoupaged floral scrapbook paper to the drawer fronts and color mixed a hot pink color from Snow White and Holiday Red Milk Paints.  The chair and drawer insides were painted in Annie Sloans' Provence Chalk Paint for an added touch of fun color.  Everything was sealed with High Performance Top Coat in Satin.

I knew that this piece was going to "get it" because the flat surfaces would allow me to really add so many extras I hadn't tried yet! I had just got a new color in, Abyss, by Wise Owl. I also ordered textured rollers from Artistic Painting Studio, along with some chrome foil and adhesive.  I started by stripping the top and sanding it down so I can apply General Finishes Java Gel stain.  The bottom of the piece got two coats of abyss chalk paint.  I then tried using the texture roller to apply my foil adhesive so when I applied the foil, I'd get a pattern.

This was a plain pine kist or trunk which I Upcycled into a cute Toybox for a little lady, I used GF Little Pink( please bring this colour back)  teamed with Antique White on the frame, sourced medium firmness foam and upholstered in pretty pink patchwork material. The pleased young lady models it perfectly.

This is probably one of the funnest tables I've refinished. Solid and heavy this round coffee table is refinished in a beachy salt wash finish with mutiple sun, sand and water colors mixed together to remind you that "Every Day is a Day at the Beach".  I personally envision her out on the deck overlooking the lake with several muti colored adirondack chairs around it. --

This is one of my all time favorite pieces. I love the color and texture combination. The piece came to me with a few needed repairs, mainly the top being in bad shape. Instead of repairing the veneer, I chose to add a texture. I used Artsiville texture medium and my decorative roller to create a faux hammered effect. Painted with MM Antique Copper, accented with AS Florance, added copper foil and glazed with GF Van Dyke Brown, sealed with GF High Performance Top coat. Body was painted with AS Florence then clear/dark wax dry brushed with MM Antique Copper.

This old desk has been given new life in Onyx with a Faux Tortoise Shell technique used on the drawers. The addition of gold gilding on the rope trim adds a touch of Elegance. General Finishes High Performance Top Coat completes the look. 

Table and chairs painted with General Finishes lamp black milk paint. Then crackle medium was used. Then painted with DIY tourqoise chalk paint. Top of table General Finishes Java gel. Top coated with General Finishes High Performance flat seats were upholstered with coordinating fabric.

Meet Caesar.  He is my handsome and very ornate vintage dresser. I fell in love with him the moment I saw him. I knew all that detail was screaming, HELP ME!  So... I rescued him!  I had a client spot this on my page and she snagged it to match a mirror she had previously gotten from me. So, here we go.. 5 colors were used! I stripped the top because he was so full of scratches.  Then I applied 2 coats of Annie Sloan Old White, over the entire piece. Next, I mixed up a brown wash using Buffalo by Shabby Paints and applied that all over.

Took this Hutch for a customer who wanted it updated, it was her moms and was not being used. she wanted to use it for her wine and wine glasses but wanted a little flair to it!  We started with Antique White, we then did a wet and dry brush technique to it  with Seagull Gray.  We then painted the inside of it with Antique white and added our stencils.

These farmhouse end tables have been refinished in a mixture of a custom teal and GF Coastal Blue with light distressing and black glaze.  GF Coastal Blue was just what these tables needed to give them depth and a farmhouse coastal feel.

I love billboards that are peeling and showing so many different layers of so many different stories and I wanted to recreate this on a piece of furniture.

Used Gf Persimmon as the main colour, decoupaged some beautiful wrapping paper to front and sides, protected with GF Topcoat, then a layer of Crackle Tex(Artisan Enhancements) over the decoupage. Used a custom mix of GF Holiday Red and Tuscan Red and a custom mix of Autentico Paint in blue peeled away with a dampened sea sponge. 

This pretty little hall table was painted in a taupe base color then washed with Persian Blue, a very light wash of Antique White went over that. The details were brought out with to shine with more Persian Blue. The top was finished out with Dark Chocolate Milk Paint and clear coated with HPTC in satin finish. The top coat was then sanded back to give a nicely aged patina to it.

It took some patience to do this project!! It took a couple of days stripping this dresser down to the original wood, and a day of sanding starting off in stages using 120 grit, and then to 180 grit, and finally 220 grit. Wiped down entire dresser with mineral spirits, and started the staining process by applying 3 coats of General Finishes "Georgian Cherry" gel stain to the top and drawers, and then spraying 3 coats of General Finishes "Snow White" milk paint to the body. I finished it all off with 3 coats of General Finishes "Top Coat" satin.

This jewlery armoire received a much needed makeover using GF Antique White Milk Paint, french print decoupage and GF High Performance Topcoat in Satin.  I also applied some gold gilding wax to highlight the details.

This piece was a labor of love.  The bottom drawer was missing and the back was coming off.  I reattached   the back and made the bottom drawer into a shelf.  I knew I wanted a two tone look so I went with my favorite black (Lamp Black) for the body and stained the drawers in Java Gel Stain.  Perfect!  I added gorgeous ceramic knobs, some metal baskets, and finally lined the drawers in removable fabric drawer liners.  To top off everything I added a stencil randomly to the drawer fronts to give it an added WOW factor.  I love how it came out.

This beautiful Dresser and Mirror set from the 1930's has been refinished with General Finishes Nutmeg gel stain. It has been painted in rustoleum champagne and gold. I then antiqued the dresser and mirror with black antiquing glaze. To enhance the beauty of this already staggering piece I sponge stenciled the front and sides of the dresser. The set was then sealed in General Finishes High Performance Top Coat to ensure lasting durablility!

I use a combination of decoupage to transfer master classic works of art to furniture, then I paint out from the image and back i tomthe image to interpret the classic work and transform it to fit a piece of upcycled furniture. My challenge is to match and i tegrate my line style and color mixing with the original artists style and to make it all work on the furniture piece I've chosen. I get deeply intomthe zone, the hypnogogic trance, and feel exhilirated while I work.

I took this very primitive dresser and painted the top in a wash of Annie Sloan graphite and darkened it with dark wax I then painted the body in old ocher and aged it using general finishes van Dyke brown glaze.  I took a black and white horse poster and measured it off on each drawer and using a exacto blade I cut the poster to fit each drawer. I carefully decoupaged each drawer with the poster, rolling out all the bubbles and wrinkles and allowed it to dry completely.  I then added another layer of decoupage paste and then added.

This buffet is amazing in structure and needed an equally amazing finish to bring it into the 21st century home. The beauty of the original wood veneer was too pretty to paint so the rest of the piece was lightened up using a dreamy, layered watercolor finish. Yellow, blue and green paints were wet and dry layered followed by a color wash in teal to bring it all together and enhance the layered paints. After finishing with a hand rubbed wax finish to impart that beautiful glow and adding a touch of aging cream (on the body) this piece now takes center stage.

This gorgeous Hutch has been finished  with General Finishes Millstone and French Vanilla with a rich Java gel stain and a smooth satin top coat. This beauty would make the perfect addition to any home. 

With General Finishes Queenstown Gray Milk Paint and Modern Masters Matte Metallics in Gold Rush, this piece really came alive! Two allover coats of Queenstown Gray milk paint gave the desk a classic, timeless update with a gorgeous smooth finish. We then used a map silhouette and traced the outline of the continents with graphite, then began to outline with gold. I worked with a small detail brush, walking around the desk so that I could approach the lines with the paint, pushing it right up to the edges away from me for maximum visibility and control.

Love when I get to do a client piece that is a challenge and I'm able to use my artistic ability. When asked how I complete some looks, I wish I could say it is a 3 step process but usually it's 20 or 40. :) I just keep "creating" until I love the finish and more importantly my client loves it. My initial plan was to use weathered gray and white wash stain. That alone was not enough to produce the finished look my client and I wanted.
