Gray Monochromatic Union Jack

By Julie Donovan, Artist at VintagelessJules in Wheaton, IL.

Winning Category

My client's son wanted a monochromatic gray tone design for this Union Jack MCM dresser. We started with a custom mix of General Finishes Queenstown Gray and Seagull Gray which resulted in this stunning medium gray color. Accents of Snow White and Queenstown Gray completed the color palette. A very subtle amount of black wax was added to the design to give it a little bit of dimension and a worn, vintage look.

Vintage Queen Anne Style Rocking Chair

By Julie Donovan, Artist at VintagelessJules in Wheaton, IL.

Winning Category

I'll be honest. I have a slight obsession with rocking chairs. Their place in the home goes well beyond a nursery. They make wonderful additions to your family room, bedroom, or that quaint little nook!

The chair was refreshed with General Finishes Antique Walnut and Black gel stains and sealed with hemp oil. Trendy new black and white designer fabric in a geometric print replaced the old dated fabric. This rocking chair is now the perfect mix of vintage and modern!

Fabulous Farmhouse Cabinet

By Julie Donovan, Artist at VintagelessJules in Wheaton, IL.

Winning Category

This adorable cabinet was given a Farmhouse facelift!  Painted in a custom mix of General Finishes Driftwood and Millstone milkpaints.  This custom color is was one of my more popular color combinations this year.  In a brighter room with more natural light, the color takes on a warm, beige tone.  In darker spaces, it lends itself to more of a cooler grey.  In my book, it is the perfect "greige".  The original pulls were replaced with new cast iron ones that have an incredible Farmhouse feel.

Fabulous Farmhouse Coffee Table set

By Julie Donovan, Artist at VintagelessJules in Wheaton, IL.

Winning Category

This coffee table set oozes Farmhouse charm.  Painted in a custom mix of General Finishes Driftwood and Millstone milkpaint.  This color is a fantastic neutral and is quite a chameleon of sorts.  In darker lighting, it lends itself as more of a cooler grey.  On a sunny day or an area with more natural light, it will have more of a warmer beige tone to it.  It truly is the perfect "greige" in my book!

Mermaid Inspired Vintage Wardrobe

By Julie Donovan, Artist at VintagelessJules in Wheaton, IL.

Winning Category

Inspired by the tranquil waters of the sea and the mythical Mermaids that swim in them, this vintage wardrobe was given a Mermaid style makeover.  Like most little girls, my daughter Charlotte likes everything sparkly and she is especailly fond of Mermaids these days.  It was no surprise to me when she said she wanted me to paint this wardrobe, to be used in her bedroom, "like a Mermaid".  My goal was to create a finish that would satisfy her Mermaid craving, but that would also grow with her and her future tastes.
